Crossing Signal Controller

Components on the shelf, from right to left:
Battery charger
Black transformer plugged into white extension cord. This tells the controller that the garage door opener light is on, thus activating the crossing signal.
The controller box, containing the flasher, the activation relay (powered by the outside transformer), two binding terminals for connecting the charger, a long terminal strip, and connections for the volt/ampmeter. The black cable leads to the battery, and the orange cable leads to the crossing signal.
Battery

The charging voltage should be reading just over 13 volts. The charging current is showing 0.3 amps. With a good battery, the charger would shut itself off, and the LED on the charger would switch from orange to green.
